Forsyth Technical Community College
Hello, I am Becky Howell. I am a Psychology Professor at Forsyth Tech Community College in Winston-Salem, NC. I have been teaching at FTCC for 17 years. I love what I do and can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I earned my Bachelors and Masters Degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Yes, I am a Happy Appy. I love Boone and love the mountains.

I am the proud single mother of 4 teenagers and take great pride in seeing them grow into wonderful young adults. I am a girl scout leader and have watched these young ladies grow up for the past 10 years. In my spare time, not that I have much of that, I like to read, write and travel.

I have two big teaching focuses, globalization and student engagement. All of the courses I teach are globalized and have an international focus. One of the many committees I serve on is the Study Away/Abroad committee. I love to travel and enjoy sharing that passion with others. I am always looking for ways to increase student engagement and reach the ever-changing student population in a way that is meaningful to them. Ideas are always accepted and usually embraced. I am excited to be a part of the NCCCSPA and hope to help make this year the best year yet, come join the fun!
