North Carolina Community College Sociology and Psychology Association
The NCCCSPA Story
The NCCCSPA was formed on March 23, 1999 at the closing session of the North Carolina Community College Psychology/Sociology Curriculum Improvement Project in Southern Pines, North Carolina. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
The purpose of the NCCCSPA is to promote communication and cooperation among North Carolina sociology and psychology faculty, to address issues and policies of interest to these disciplines, to provide opportunities for professional and career development, and to support effective teaching.
Since 1999, the NCCCSPA has held annual conferences to promote collegiality, collaboration, and teaching excellence while leveraging the extensive pool of talent that exists within the NC Community College system. We alternate our conference locations between the Eastern and Western regions of our state, offering our community the chance to enjoy locations that are as engaging as the professional development we provide. Also, in 2024, the NCCCSPA expanded its offerings to provide virtual professional development to its members.
