Amanda has been in education for the entirety of her career, beginning in elementary education and spending the last ten years in higher ed. She has served the students at Nash Community College for the duration of her tenure in the community college system, serving in multiple capacities. She was granted title of professor in May 2023 and teaches SOC 210: Introduction to Sociology, SOC 213: Sociology of the Family, and SOC 225: Social Diversity. She is also currently serving as Vice President of the NCCCSPA. ​
